Harlow Ranch

Flatiron Outfitting retains exclusive hunting rights to what is arguably one of the best pieces of private property for whitetail hunting, in Northwestern Montana. This 2200 acre ranch is home to some of the most impressive whitetail bucks the state has to offer. From the timbered hills, to the agricultural fields, the deer and elk numbers are staggering. There are no high fences here. All animals are free ranging. This truly is whitetail hunting at its finest.

The ranch property is tucked in neatly between the Clark Fork river to the south, and the Lolo National forest to the north. To the western and eastern reaches of the ranch are bordered by private property on both sides. The hunting on the property has been strictly managed to increase the deer to hunter ratio. Through the concise conservation efforts of Flatiron Outfitting an generous landowner cooperation, the game numbers are astounding. The ranch terrain is comprised primarily of gently rolling hills. Much of it is timbered with a mixture of agricultural fields and grazing land located throughout it. With the property being bordered by the National Forest, it also lends itself to the elk which migrate down out of the mountains with the accumulation of snow in the high country.

Because of the timbered sanctuaries and abundant food supplies, it is a natural haven for whitetail. We have found the most effective method for hunting this property and its whitetail, is to take up stand positions along travel routes between bedding and feeding areas. We have a number of tree stands and ground blinds located throughout the property for hunter use. There is an estimated resident herd of elk numbering upwards of 200 that roam the ranch nearly year long as well.

This is an ideal place for anyone who would like the opportunity to take a trophy whitetail. Given the gentle terrain, it is very accommodating for those veteran hunters who may have difficulty hiking. The seasoned hunter can also teach a youngster a few tricks of the trade.

Whether you are looking for an exciting and relaxing getaway to back country areas in pursuit of game. This kind of low pressure hunting environment is also a great with old hunting buddies, or a time to spend together in the field with family or friends, the Harlow Ranch is your destination. Keep in mind hunters are limited to only five per week to ensure the best chances for a successful hunt. Grab your gear and experience for yourself some of the best Montana has to offer!
